Check out one of our clients, Catriona Clark – she is an up and coming designer with her label Catriona MacAllister. I wish her the best of luck with her new collection.
CATRIONA FOCUSES ON STRONG TAILORING AND AN ELEGANT SILHOUETTE THAT HIGHLIGHTS INTRICATE DETAILING USING LASER CUTTING, EMBROIDERY AND DIGITAL PRINTING.
I asked Catriona to write a small paragraph about her collections to give our readers a clear idea of what inspires her and what she hopes to achieve from her collections:
My spring/summer13 Collection:
The Spring/ Summer 13 collection, is my first official collection under my label Catriona MacAllister. It’s a capsule collection with a few of the pieces available in limited quantities.
I have taken elements from my graduate collection, which is titled “Archaic Light” and I have made the garments wearable for women who are rushing around with their day to day jobs.
The collection is based on architecture with a lot of the inspiration coming from cathedrals and churches. The print was inspired by the patterns seen in stain glass windows, which I simplified and gave a neutral colour palette before incorporating it on a couple of tops, a skirt, along with scarves and shawls.
Another feature of the collection is the laser cutting which was used more prominently in the graduate collection. This time I only used it on shirts and paired them with more classic style trousers.
