This week Bridge & Stitch went on a little road trip to visit some of our Suppliers and Manufacturers. We are working on lots of interesting projects at the minute, so it was a great opportunity to see where some of our products are made and meet the people that help us along the way!
First stop was one of our local factories to talk patterns and sampling. We then headed over to a knitwear factory to source some very particular fabric for a client. We were looking for a production friendly knit to replace hand-knitted panels in some lovely childrenswear we are working on. We were presented with a beautiful 100% Cotton Milano which was a near perfect replacement, which can also be knitted using a 80% cotton 20% cashmere mix, giving it a softer handle and more luxurious finish.
Another factory visit followed, where we due to pick up some samples. The final stop before heading back to the Bridge & Stitch HQ was a trip to the printers to experiment with some exciting new diamante heat transfers. Despite the reluctance of the (all male) printers, Rachael jumped onto the heat press, and 15 seconds later we had some impressive sparkly samples to hand. We can’t help but love these at the office, and are itching to try out the newest sample (on the left)!

We even got a lesson on screen printing and a tour of the dark room!
We’ve also been going pattern crazy this week, having just completed the grading for some exciting new products!
So overall, a very fun, informative, and productive week at Bridge & Stitch!
