If you read last weeks blog, you will remember that Bridge & Stitch was part of some very exciting filming for one of our projects. We are thrilled to announce that we have been working with The Cambridge Mask Company, who have developed a fashionable range of air pollution masks. After moving to Beijing in 2011 as an education consultant, the companies Director Chris Dobbing noticed an alarming number of children suffering from breathing problems as a result of the extremely high air pollution faced by China. Unable to find existing masks that both children and adults would enjoy wearing and match to their outfits, Chris decided to design his own product which would not only come in a great range of patterns and designs, and but also provide high grade filtration against harmful and hazardous particles.
Manufacturing of the masks began abroad, but Chris soon began to struggle in producing the high quality product he wanted. Originally from Oxford, Chris recognised the high quality and reliability that UK manufacturing can offer and made the decision to relocate production to the UK. Bridge & Stitch are honoured to be working with The Cambridge Mask Company on developing this new product, and are delighted to be exporting to China, which goes against the trends and highlights the resurgence of UK manufacturing. We believe this is a first step in supporting our economy and making Made in the UK products more accessible to a wider range of people, not only in the UK but also internationally.
We look forward to a long and continued working relationship with Chris, and hope to export to China for many years to come! We wish Chris the best of luck with his venture and hope that other companies will too see the advantages of manufacturing in the UK.
