When it comes to garment printing, there are so many options out there is can sometimes be confusing to which is the best method for you. DTG, or Direct to Garment printing, is the process of printing full colour images directly onto garments using a specialised printer. Here at Bridge & Stitch we feel that occasionally DTG printing can get overlooked when determining the most suitable options for our clients due the cheaper price often being reflected in it’s quality. We have however began to notice that the quality is continuously improving and should not be discounted, so we thought we would give you five reasons why DTG printing could be for you…
1) A much more cost-effective alternative to digital printing when producing a photographic or multi-coloured print, and involves no set-up fees.
2) Unlike some other methods, DTG printing can be used for producing small runs of 1-100 units.
3) DTG allows you to not only print on most fabrics in both light and dark colours, but can be used on almost any surface including phone & tablet cases, metal plaques, badges, and bottles.
4) DTG inks attach directly to fibres, resulting in great washability and a fantastic hand that almost feels like part of the fabric.
5) Most modern DTG printers have the ability to print in 3D, making it suitable for the production of braille signs
