Over the past couple of weeks we’ve covered tech packs and master patterns, so this week its time to sit down with Rachael to discuss PACART sheets, labels, and swing tickets.
Q: So what kind of labels and packaging can Bridge & Stitch produce?
A: Bridge & Stitch can help with all labelling, branding and packaging requirements and can work to pretty much any design provided by our clients. This ranges from printed or woven brand and size labels to swing tickets and custom packaging. Despite being an extremely important stage in the manufacturing process, we tend to find that labelling can sometimes be over looked by our clients. First impressions count for everything so it worthwhile ensuring your garments are labelled and packaged correctly.
Q: What exactly is a PACART sheet?
A: A PACART is an artwork sheet which is produced for each label, swing ticket, or print/embroidery, and provides accurate measurements alongside a scaled flat drawing, the method of construction or print, and any pantone references etc. Once approved by our clients, PACART sheets are sent across to our supplier and used a basis for quotes.

Q: What information is needed in order to produce a PACART sheet?
A: We firstly need all brand logo’s and outlined text and in the original format (Ai. or PDF). It is also useful it our clients have an idea of how they want their labels and swing tickets to look, or any specific dimensions, although we can supply examples for inspiration.
Q: Are there certain labels which are required in a garment?
A: Care Labels are a legal requirement, so these need to included within a garment at the very least. We would also recommend including a brand label and size pip.
Bridge & Stitch offer stock care labels, or can help clients develop their own customised versions!
Q: Are there different types of label that Bridge & Stitch offer?
Care labels, brand labels, and size pips are the most commonly used labels, however you certainly aren’t limited to these! Hem labels and arm tabs can be very effective on t-shirts, so this really just depends on the imagination of our clients! In terms of the labels themselves, we can offer both printed and woven options in a variety of different shapes and types, so the possibilities really are endless.

Q: What are swing tickets, and do all garments require these?
A swing ticket is a piece of card attached to a garment which includes the price, bar code, and size. Despite being usually rectangular, these can be all shapes, sizes, and qualities. Swing tickets are not a requirement and completely optional, but are a great opportunity to display the brand name, website, and more information about the garment or company.
Q: How much do labels and swing tickets cost?
Label, swing tickets, and packaging prices will vary depending on the complexity of the design and the quantities required. Additional set-up costs are sometimes charged.
PACARTs are charged at £35.00 per sheet, and covers all technical work, delivery and packaging of any samples, artwork amendments, and all correspondence with the supplier regarding the project.
Q: What leadtimes should be expected for labels and swing tickets?
Lead times vary, but we would usually expect around 2-3 weeks for sampling and 3-4 weeks for production. We advise that we begin working on PACARTS as soon as possible to ensure that any delays do not hold up garment production.
Q: Can Bridge & Stitch offer any other customised branding?
Most definitely! We can produce a wide range of exciting trims and embellishments which range from chenille badges and rubber tabs to customised elastics and metal tags. We have also recently been working with diamantes and glitter vinyl transfers, which are especially great for childrenswear. It’s always fun to see interesting and innovative branding, and particularly enjoy working with it here at the Bridge & Stitch HQ!
