You may or may not be aware of the Fashion Revolution Week campaign, well this is something that we get involved in every year.
The Fashion Revolution campaign began after the Rana Plaza factory collapse in 2013 and it aims to achieve a fairer, safer fashion industry. The movement uses the hashtag, #whomademyclothes? with the aim to encourage brands to be more open to their customers about where their clothes are manufactured and to provide a platform to factory workers so that they are able to speak out against inadequate working conditions.
This year, Bridge & Stitch have decided to take part in the ‘Show Your Label’ campaign. This involves taking a photo of your favourite garment/s showing the brand label and sharing this, asking the brand #whomademyclothes?
Throughout the week, 23-29th April 2018, we will be raising awareness of the campaign on our social media and posting our ‘Show Your Label’ images along with interesting and somewhat sobering facts and figures about the manufacturing industry.
We will be getting in touch with some of our favourite, well-known brands as well as brands that we have worked with ourselves with the aim to understand more about the origin of the brand and the transparency of their manufacture.
Check back on our blog to hear about how we got on and what we found out and keep an eye out on our social media throughout the week to keep up to date with the campaign.
We would love for you to get involved using the hashtags #whomademyclothes? #B&Sfashionrevolution
