Bridge & Stitch is a project management company for clothing brands, working with ethical clothing manufacturers. This means that we work with clothing brands to design, develop and manufacture their clothing collections. Whether you are starting within the clothing industry or are an established clothing brand that wants independent support on any aspect of the manufacturing process, we can help you. We have a strong focus on made in Britain and sustainability, but can also work with overseas suppliers and manufacturers where appropriate.
2011-2018: Made in Britain
Bridge & Stitch was founded by Rachael Hobbs in 2011 when she realised that many clothing brands were struggling to find UK based manufacturers, pushing brands to move production abroad. UK clothing manufacturing which once led the way, during the industrial revolution, was on the decline. Rachael wanted to look at ways to reverse the skills gap, inspire younger generations to return their attention to the manufacturing side of fashion and bring production back to the UK. Supporting the local economy, Bridge & Stitch grew and began connecting hundreds of clothing brands to UK factories, working across a vast range of product types from babywear and sportswear through to filtration facemasks.
2019-today: Sustainability
In 2019, after assisting over 300 businesses to design and manufacture in the UK, Rachael wanted to make Bridge & Stitch more transparent, with a focus on ethical manufacturing and sustainability. All brands are given supplier details so that they know the origins of their extended supply chains, paying the suppliers directly and avoiding any middle-man margins. We have built up an ever growing list of sustainable fabric suppliers and ethical clothing manufacturers who are conscious of their environmental impact. Bridge & Stitch work with environmentally conscious clothing brands who consider planet before profit, to produce responsible clothing for the mid-high end market.
